So, anyone else getting increadibly fed up with the Points Boosting Glitch? I'm not sure if this is happening on the PS3 or the PC front but I'm really getting sick of finding more of these glitched custom games and a real Team Deathmatch.
If you don't know what this glitch is, I ask you one question: Ever found yourself in a room of 24 (or whatever the max is) people in a free-for-all game on Rust when you were searching for another game type? People have managed to trick the Matchmaking system into allowing you to create a Custom Match that is included within the Matchmaking search. These boosters create an endless game of.. or should I say, Shit Storm that is only ended when the Host ends the game. Oh, and you get all of the points for it.
I'll end this by quoting a kid who was hosting one of these rooms: "I'm pathetic? But my friends are already a level 10 prestige!"
This is what happens when people care more about a number/symbol next to their name than they do about the damn game and that IT WAS CREATED TO BE PLAYED FOR FUN.... that is all.
Glad to see you...
If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

I was wondering what was going on with this. I quit out after dying like crazy, and it probably counted as a loss then. That's pretty weak.
ReplyDeleteMy point about cheating still stands. I think somewhere in the human heart is a rebellious nature, rebellious to the moral laws set in place, and when given the opportunity (especially opportunity without consequence) we will break those laws. It's fun to see it in action, but how much fun is a Mario level if you can jump over everything in one hop? Or if you weren't injured by baddies. Or could walk through obstacles?
Lame.
Again...way to bring in the nature of man Amateria.
ReplyDeleteI have ended up in these rooms and it's nice to finally know why, but since it's RUST I quit instantly so I've never actually played in one.
So you play and then when the host ends it he and his "friends" get all the XP? Am I understanding this correctly?
Anyone that stahys to the end... not just his friends
ReplyDeleteThe first day I bought the game (for PC), I saw people with Prestige level 10. Really not sure what the point is. I might get their someday down the road and I'll have earned all of it...
ReplyDeleteAmateria's points about the nature of man are so true.
Amateria: Maybe we need to open a new thread that studies psychological and socialogical aspects of gaming so we can fully understand the reasoning behind our behaviors and long-term effects of our habits.
ReplyDeleteogo
that's not a bad idea...
