Glad to see you...

Bayonetta Review surprise.

This just skyrocketed to the top of my list with some Christmas gift cards. Reviewer at IGN calls Bayonetta the best action game he's ever played. That's including Ninja Gaiden AND God of War.

Made by the same guy that created the original Devil May Cry, Okami and the amazing Viewtiful Joe. After Devil May Cry 4 I'd pretty much given up on the action circuit, but this looks/sounds quite spectacular.

  1. I just recieved my copy in the mail (finally) and it really is great. It has a pretty decent story but god does it have a lot of cutscenes. Guess you have to expect that, being a japanese game.. Regargless, it's a lot of fun, very challenging. The game entirely revolves around dodging and timing. And clothes made out of hair. And quad-weilding rocket launchers.

.. Gonna go play some more meow.

Another review saying it's better than the best.

Thanks for the update Mazen! I'll be picking up my copy on the 26th!

  3. I'm going to cry a massive... MASSIVE BS!!!!! Now, granted I am not a massive fan of this type of game, but after all the hype I went in with an open mind to give it a shot. I played the demo several months back from the Japanese PSN store and after the first 5 minutes my reaction was... wow, this game is really BAD. I'm calling shananigans as there has to be some money exchanged under the table to give this type of review. I'm sorry, but despite not being a big fan, I still considered myself able to tell a good game from a bad one. Hopefully the demo was just a really shotty example of what the game really is.
The reviewers are probobly giving the score based off of her sex appeal, not the fact that the game isn't even any fun.

  4. I just beat this game today, and I'm going to have to stand by all the reviews for it. Although, admittedly, I wasn't too terribly hyped from the demo, I soon realized that the full experience has so much more to offer. The boss encounters are just so excellent and, I dare say, "epic", which is a term I don't like to toss around due to its overuse as of late. The combat definitely sets it apart from other action games or its kind. There is something about it in Bayonetta that makes it so much more exhilariating than games like God of War and Devil May Cry, and even though I was getting frustrated at times, it was so rewarding to finally come back and completely destroy an encounter or boss without getting touched. There's a great sense of accomplishment in that. There is even more to learn as more weapons are unlocked. I'm definitely going through on Hard with different sets just to see how different it can be.

Overall, I'm just going to say that the game isn't fairly represented with the demo, and a lot of people agree to that. There are a lot of moments in it that really surprised me and made me say "Wow", which is something not a lot of games do for me lately, which is a shame.
