Glad to see you...

I'm gonna do it....

I'm now the owner of Okami. I also own Shadow of the Colossus. I'm beating these games if it kills me. They're two of the games on my list of games to play before I die so I better get crackin. "Suit up. I'll see ya out there."

  1. First up, apologies for my complete lack of input over the past week or so i've been totally off the radar. was in italy last week with work then travelled up north, aka Scotland for xmas. now a bit more settled so i can start sharing my thoughts....so.

Good man, Okami is a wonderful game to play, saying that i only played a handful of hours of it but i really enjoyed it. Shadow of the Colossus for me is one of the best ps2 games out, story is very strange but the gameplay i thoguht was fantastic, some of the battles are so clever and for a ps2 game impressive in size and style.

  6. I started SOTC as well, and I'm quite pleased so far. It begs to be remade in HD (do the component cables help at all on this one?).

Did they even test the controls on this one? I understand the cinematic camera movement, but it feels restricting and weird at times. I find myself moving my head to the left or right because I'm trying to look around something. Maybe I should appreciate that fact and embrace that as evidence that I'm getting immersed in their world, but it still bugs the crap out of me.

  7. Amateria: Yeah the component cables help big time on this one. If you look in the menus you'll see the option for component AND widescreen. You also have to set the options in the PS2 "dashboard."

Shame on you for not customizing the hell out of your controls to slightly resemble something a western developer would make (ie controls that aren't totally retarded). I retooled about the whole thing so at least it's natural. I beat the 4th colossus last night and am addicted.

  8. It's getting remade for a ps3 release, much like the god of war 1&2 games have. so i expect them to bump up the res and framerate.

  9. 3N3MY: Do those settings only take effect once you have the component cables set up? I only have composite right now, but both my ps2 settings and the in-game settings for SOTC are set to what you just mentioned, but my game is still out-putting in 4:3.

    Suggestions anyone?

  10. The game HAS to have the option as well and if it does YOU have to set it that way. Kind of like the old XBox games. Not all games are compatible.
