Glad to see you...

If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

Doh...

So we were playing last night and while chatting away a certain somebody started taking the piss out of the awful Fracture and the fact someone we know, aka Seven Gears actually bought the game...Which leads me to my post/topic.

What games have you bought which u really wish you hadn't wasted your money on and are totally ashamed to have in your games played list on Live...

I'll happily admit my first entry as Red Faction : Guerilla, not the worst game every but i cant of spent more than a couple of hours on the campaign and got bored of the MP so very quick.

  1. NBA Live 06.... was always a fan of basketball games growing up but that game was so bad it ruined my taste for them and I dont know if I'll buy one again.

If we take thid beyond this generation my vote would go to Cabellas Big Game Hunter 2 for the Game Cube. My dad thought it looked cool and well...

Game that its hillarious and fun but I'm sorta ashamed to own: Beach Spikers for GC. Look it up!

  2. Super Mario Sunshine (GC) for two reasons. The first being that I lost 50 bucks on a game that I truly couldn't have liked any less. How the hell do you screw up the Super Mario 64 formula???? The second being that it actually was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I bought a XBOX the next day.

When I was a kid I saved all my money and was looking to buy the Spiderman: Carnage video game for Sega and I accidentally bought one of the other 3 Spiderman games that totally eat my ass. What a crusher. I never did get the right game either....

Most of the games I still own for Dreamcast. Namely "ILLBLEED."

Honorable mentions are buying HALO 2 twice and HALO 3 at least 4 times now. Amateria would love to tell you how and why.

  3. Most of mine come from 3N3MY. It's not a reflection on his taste at all, but a combination of his impulse buying tendancies (look at his avatar clothing collection) and my need to play with other people more than my need to make an informed purchase.

    1)Marathon
    2)Unreal Championship 2
    3)Star Wars Battlefront 2
    4)Assault Heroes
5)re-buying Rainbow Six Vegas (and selling 2)

I'm sure there's more, but I think I've made my point. I would also like to note that with the exception of the frame rate crazy Marathon, those games are all awesome, but we definitely haven't dumped enough time in them to justify owning.

  4. To be fair as well, I'd like to post a list of games that 3N3MY pushed me into that I don't regret at all.

    1)buying a 360 in the first place
2)Geometry Wars 1 and 2 (still got records baby!)
    3)Gears of War
    4)Viewtiful Joe
    5)and coming up soon, Mechinarium.

    Rocking!

  5. Far Cry 2... What a buggy, horrible waste of game. And nothing says complete irritation like having to take out a small army at each check-point... and which always respawned again and again...

  6. Juniper: Yeah I was SOOO excited to play FC2 on the 360. I loved the open world, but was boggled as to why the enemies ALWAYS respawned at every checkpoint (game breaker #1). I was all about the stealth in that game, but the enemy AI had better vision than Bald Eagles. They'd shoot your from 2 miles out even though you had on the useless camo suit (game breaker #2).

  7. Yeah, it was very disappointing... I considered purchasing it for the 360 since it wouldn't work on 2 different operating systems on the PC... but that enemy respawn was just stupid. Ruined the game. A far cry from the first Far Cry... get it... :P
