Glad to see you...

If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

Yikes! Already?

New Super Mario Bros Wii has already outsold Mario Galaxy (I would actually like to play that one someday)!

  1. Which one do you want to play? Neither of them are intrinsically bad, but they've both definitely been Wii-ed up, if you know what I mean.

How many things could Mario do in Super Mario World? Get mushrooms, spin jump, break bricks with spin, fly with a cape, fire power, super star, hover with the cape, get yoshi, eat things with yoshi, stomp on the group with yoshi, spit fire with yoshi, pick up items, throw items up or down... it goes on. What can he do in Galaxy? Well, he can.. uh... super stars are there, then there's the Bee suit! That was cool... It's wayyyy dumbed down, despite playing pretty clean.

As far as New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it's a weird time. I'll probably end up writing a quick little review on it, since I've tried to play it about 5 times now, and it keeps running into the same issues for me.
