I played 4 rounds of "Scavenge" last night in L4D2 and it was a lot of fun. It's what "Versus" should have been. It's still very fast paced and challenging, but a more to the point and a bare bones match of team vs team.
It can still suck to be the infected b/c of the sheer length of the respawns, 20 second minimum, but I guess that helps keep it more fair. To prevail as the infected is harder b/c you really have to attack as a group. If every zombie goes at it alone they will get blasted by the rest of the team.
The Jockey and Spitter are a great addition to vary up attacks and honestly the Jockey is my new favorite. For one attack I leeched on to a human player then pivoted him around a pillar so that the other team couldn't get at me from behind a wall of fire. It was awesome!
Bottom line is that we need to play L4D2 more. MW2 is outstanding, but lets mix it up with some zombie slaying.
Glad to see you...
If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

Or we could finish Borderlands...
ReplyDeleteI always thought it would be cool to be able to control one of the "horde" zombies while waiting to respawn as one of the specials. Obviously it wouldn't last nearly as long, but it would make those waiting periods more interesting, and would definitely add a different perspective as the zombies. Even when I play as the specials, I don't really feel like I'm a zombie, running with the masses, trying to calm my insatiable desire for brains. Oh well.
I'll have to agree with Amateria on this one solid point finish up borderlands. When the 24th hits the new Zombie island comes out.
