This weekend I was finally able to give the Bad Company 2 Beta a run through with Skatch and another buddy of ours called Jinx. Holy Balls Batman.... This game is intense. I would normally compare it to the first BC but as I only played the Beta (I have a habit of getting into every available beta, except MAG dangit), that would be an unfair comparison. I'll let Skatch fill you all in on that. The best way I can describe it is a massive-insanely-intense epic that somehow has a gameplay mechanic that feels more "real" and forces you to work as a team or else fail terribly. The level that is included in this beta is set in a desert and is graphically amazing. There is washed-out color filter that gives you the feel of actually being in a blindingly bright desert.
If you have a PS3 I recommend you find yourself a beta key and give it a try.
Glad to see you...
If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

I so wish I had a PS3... :'(
ReplyDeletetotally agree with the "massive-insanely-intense" already had some proper stand out moments, they call it a sandbox game cos u can really just about go about completing the objectives anyway you like, Brjahu, how about we strap some C4 to the quad bike, drive at one of the crates and BOOOOM, or even strap some to that mini chooper thing u get and give it the same treatment.
ReplyDeleteskatch: As awesome as the "sandbox" elements sound what you described is what's done in every other Battlefield game. I'll be pumped to try the game out, but I'm not buying until I see the servers.
ReplyDelete3n3my: EA is one of the few companies that still believes in servers. Ill admit I'm not the biggest EA fan but this game gives me hope.
