Glad to see you...

If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

Polarizing

I'm glad we've finally gotten down to doing this. I think that to be more popular we should be as polarizing as we can be. Not unlike Perez Hilton, Hitler and Obama. That way even if people don't like us they love to hate us. We win either way.

Assassins Creed 2 will own (the first one rocked I don't care what any of you say) and you guys are skipping out on Borderlands to spite Amateria and me (we're on to you brjahu)! Keep playing your blockbuster only games and when there's no original games anymore you'll only have yourselves to blame.

Now for the polarizing! Wii is the worst game system of all time and has damaged gaming for us all (Natal and PS3's Eye Thingy anyone)! Lets play Shadowrun?

  1. Just like the crappy storytelling (not the story, but the way it was told...), and the plan to make three games to tell it, (instead of the traditional, one...) I think it's stupidly arrogant of Ubisoft to go into their release week with the attitudes they had before.

I forget where I read it, but I remember hearing the head of Ubisoft made the claim that AC2 would out sell MW2 at launch. Unlease they've got some behind close doors deal with Activision no one knows about, that's just plain crazy.

I'm all about games not being afraid of MW2, (c'mon Splinter Cell, Mass Effect... step up!) but as a retailer of games, I can make one claim, and that is that outselling MW2 at launch would be insane.

I probably shouldn't have even brought all this up. 3N3MY and I have argues so much about it we sound like an old married couple at this point... and old married couple getting lost in the beautiful golden years of a post-apocalyptic Pandora wasteland... ::kiss::

  2. Congratulations on figuring out how to post.

    What was the problem?

Assassin's Creed 2 does LOOK awesome. I just mean graphically. That first cinematic they released (quite some time ago now) of that party at night with the fireworks was amazing. I don't care what anyone says about the first one, either, I want to play it, especially now that a sequel is almost here (one that looks better in every way).

Consider this my formal apology for purchasing and playing solid games like the COD series and Left 4 Dead. I'm so apologetic, in fact, that I'm going to buy a Wii right after work so I can play Balloon Pop and Cooking Mama: Cook Off.

  3. Amateria: xoxoxo

LeadEnsalada: First, most people that see your name are going to think you're hispanic. Second, apology accepted and while your picking up a Wii swing by the nursing home and see if you can borrow one of their controllers.

  4. The problem was I'm a moron and didn't accept the invite to be part of this group. Epic Fail.

  5. I totally agree with the Wii statement because of two reasons. First off is that yes 3N3MY the Wii has pretty much damaged all of the coming games coming out including Fable 3. Second the games are just not that good looking, But lately I've been hearing there is a Wii with blue-ray in the works.

Assassin's Creed 2 really didn't spark an interest to me because of CoD:MW2 and L4D 2 all coming out around the same time. AC 2 does look very very good graphically and hopefully has more story related elements to it. The videos have made me consider buying it but with CoD and L4D out next week I'll wait to pick it up.

I'm with Amateria on the whole Ubisoft claiming they we will out sell CoD:MW 2 I also seen it or found it surfing the net. The launch trailer made me jump like a little school girl.

  9. We'll try to keep this up. We've been live for like a day, and we're already getting kinda crowded. Amazing!

So everyone knows, we're looking for possibilities of creating a more permanent home, maybe a website that would have a section for a gaming blog, personal reviews from the front lines (our sofas), and hopefully a forum for discussion that could link from the blog and reviews. For now though, this is exciting.

Have fun kids, and keep it clean!
