I'm sorry about reposting a link to another blog but this is just too ridiculous not to comment on. After 5 years (fact check?) they finally are admitting that it's just not physically possible. Seriously, why did it take them so long to do this? The other part about it is that supposedly the PS3 is this ultra-powerful machine with something like 82-cores (fact check?) yet it doesn't have enough RAM to support something as simple as cross-game chat. Now, I may not be the expert witness in a trial when it comes to PS3's hardware specs, but wouldn't you think they could find a way, even if it's just software related?
rant away
Yeah it's pretty lame, but isn't a real game changer for me personally.
ReplyDeleteI read another report about it on IGN and Sony said it's a RAM issue and once it's used by the game there's no using it for anything else.
Maybe the 360 is using it through another channel or thought this one through ahead of time?
The funny thing is that the new PSVita WILL have cross game chat. It should be noted that the Vita actually has more RAM than the PS3.
A bummer for sure and, like you already said, mind boggling that it took this long for them to just announce that it can't work.
Ahhhh, the Japanese and their pride.
