I knew there was a map pack coming, but I didn't know until this morning that it would be $15 for 3 new maps and 2 old ones (one of which I HATED). I've been reading message boards this morning filled with whining about the price point.
So....is $15 too much for 3 new maps and 2 old ones? I think so. I kinda thought the "standard" price for map packs was $10. Oh yeah, I also haven't played the game since BC2 came out. Also, I'm probably getting rid of it for that very reason.
If they released a new Spec Ops pack, that would be enticing since that was the best part of the game. Campaign made no sense, multi was ruined by glitches and perk exploits, but Spec Ops was a blast. Why no Spec Ops DLC?
I challenge you to NOT get these maps. Don't give any more money to Activision/IW for this heap.
Glad to see you...
If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

I'll get right to the point: if it wasn't for Crash being included, I wouldn't even give it a thought. But by putting one of my all-time favorite maps into this, I cannot lie, I am very tempted. However, I am HOOKED on BC and like Lead, I havent played the game since.
ReplyDeleteNow 3N3MY you can start calling me a fool.
I know it's jumping the gun a bit, but in light of recent news and rumor surrounding the relationship between IW and Activision, I'm not certain that the pricing is their fault. Activision knows what a hot title they've got on their hands, and when a company is willing to (seemingly) let two of the people who are more than a little responsible for it's success all in order to save money on the deal, I wouldn't be surprised to see them jacking up the cost of the DLC.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that bothers me more about this, is remakes. Not re-inventions, not re-creations, re-makes. They've already got all the geometry laid out, they know how to modify it for the new weapons, perks, and killstreaks, and most importantly, they already have it done. 5 *new* maps for 15 almost seems reasonable, but when 2 of them have already been made, in fact, already on a game I currently own... we've got issues.
With horrible pings, hackers that nobody can do anything about and that nobody bans, matchmaking, glitches, etc., etc., etc... until the glorious day that IW frees itself from Activision's reign (which may never come), I will not be purchasing any more Call of Duty's. I gave it a try and though it took some steps in the right direction, it took several in the wrong direction too. No thanks. I don't even have this installed on my PC anymore.

ReplyDeleteGet rid of it on goozex while you can still get uber points.
Was I ahead of the curve on this one???
I made the fatal mistake of purchasing a digital copy on the PC. Epic fail on my part cuz I'm stuck with it. I've given up on digital copies after discovering Goozex... :(
