The game was officially, officially announced last night, along with a trailer.
It looks like they shaved Cole's head and then glued it to Dom's face.
I hope the whole game isn't gray like that. There has been lots of talk about jungle environments and underwater stuff (not sure how THAT will work), though.
I'm looking forward to another rockin' campaign (hopefully 4 player this time??). My expectations for multiplayer are extremely low. Bring on Horde mode again tho.

Scratch that comment about Cole. Upon viewing a larger, HD version of the trailer, I can see that Cole is actually wearing a do-rag, smaller and tighter than Marcus's ever-present bandanna. I'm probably paying too much attention to this, but what can I say? The Train's at home on the rails. Apparently, the Train's at home in his do-rag, too. Jeesh, what else can Epic do to make Cole even MORE of a stereotypical black guy? They could make him have an Uzi tucked into the front of his pants (hanging down around his knees). Maybe give him some gold teeth, gold chains, earrings. How about have a limo full of his bitches cart him around each stage? How about a hat with the gold New Era sticker still on the bill?

Probably true in this circumstance. But I'm not certain that creating a character like Cole, with all of his particular qualities, isn't racist in and of itself. The only thing that comforts me in that is the knowledge that the man they've chosen to voice Cole, is a man named "The Mighty Rasta", a gentle who, like Cole, has embraced the African-American nature of his genealogy in full force.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't the racists. We are merely pointing out some of the blatant stereotypes in the entertainment medium in a humorous way. I would love to see more characters of all races fill out different roles across the spectrum.

ReplyDelete4 player coop will be good times. Even though multi is a huge mess in GoW games, the campaigns are tight and horde mode is always fun.
