I've had to cheer myself up after the release of Starcraft 2 in all it's awesomeness. Between therapy and constantly rewatching Diablo 3 videos, I've been able to pull out of my dark slump. Then a light descended from heaven and revealed to me several other great games coming out that I'm really looking forward to playing.
1. Fallout: New Vegas - more fallout!? yes, please!
2. Civilization V - Never got into this series until there was a large Steam sale and I picked up Civ IV and a bunch of expansions for dirt cheap. Fun strategy game.
3. Fable III - Not quite as good as some other RPGs out there, still will be worth my time.
4. CoD: Black Ops - The PC edition is getting dedicated servers plus modding abilities so Treyarch is completely redeeming themselves. And another zombie mode! Still hesitant about giving any money to Activision so this may be a Goozex purchase.
5. Max Payne 3 - no release date and probably won't be this year but one of my top 5 favorite franchises. I played through the 2nd game 5 or 6 times.
6. Diablo 3 - Diablo 2 set the standard for years of action/RPGs and this sequel is looking amazing so far.
7. Torchlight II - the first one was a cheap Indy game that sucked up 30hrs of my time. A Diablo 2 clone from several developers behind Diablo 2. 2nd one looks even better.
8. Brink - This game caught my eye just this past week and looks like it has potential to be an enjoyable FPS.
Post up some games you guys are looking forward too...
Glad to see you...
If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

HALO Reach: I know I've been preaching against this game, but to say that the new Firefight modes with you guys wouldn't be a total blast would be a lie.
ReplyDeleteGran Turismo 5: I've never actually owned any of the previous 4, but have played several of them for a good amount of time. Really looking forward to another great racer.
Dead Space 2: No words can express my anticipation for this game.
Castlevania: The newest previews are already praising this game despite Hideo Kojima's best efforts of ruining it.
Fable 3: Getting all 1350 achievements in Fable 2 is still one of my most cherished memories on the 360. No way this game won't be a blast.
I know that there are some other HUGE games coming out in the next handful of months, but these are really the only ones on my radar.
Reach and Castlevania are day 1 purchases for me. Maybe Call of Duty: Black Ops if I get bored. I'm not sold on AC: Brotherhood. I really just wish they'd waited another year and given us a full-fledged sequel with the focus on single player.
ReplyDelete1. Assassins Creed Brotherhood: Can't wait to see what happens to ezio in this latest installment. You have an amazing story and awesome gameplay in a huge open world and now they're throwing multi-player into the mix.
ReplyDelete2. COD Black Ops: My all time favorite fps series. Usually I prefer infinity ward, but trey really looks like their stepping it up this time. We have a currency system, customizable characters and weapons, and 4 new wager matches among other things. It’s almost like MW2 meets Counter Strike meets SOCOM.
3. Nintendo 3DS: I don’t know if the 3DS will be available before next year but one thing is for sure, I will def be picking it up on launch day. The concept is amazing and the graphics look great from what I’ve seen but one of the things I’m looking forward to most is the Ocarina of Time and Starfox (which I unfortunately never got the chance to play) remakes. Also the announcement of Snake Eater remake and an exclusive Resident Evil sweeten the deal.
