Glad to see you...

If the gaming industry is an automobile, and the game designers are the drivers, then that makes us, the players, backseat drivers, and we'll be damned if we're gonna let the industry keep on heading the way it's going (good or bad) without letting them know what we think. So buckle up, feel free to complain about there being no air in the back, and bring your most critical and analytical mind to the open air discussion of the current age, Backseat Gamers!

Games yet to play....

I know that over the last several months I have been lacking in my posts... well, lacking might not be the best word but hopefully those of you who know me or have been following for a long time understand my gaming habits. The short version: I keep everything I buy, and play most of them to death. Although, I always argue that I get my money's worth and more out of games, what ends up happenings is that I will pass on some great games because I am still playing a game I bought a couple of months ago. To remedy this, last year I started creating a list of games that I am required to play at some point before I die.

Here are some examples of games that I was "late to the party" but finally played:
Mirrors Edge
Assassins Creed 1 and 2
Fallout 3
Oblivion (kind of... I bought my 360 late)
Mass Effect
Portal
God of War 3
and even... Gears of War (yes, I was late... 3NEMY convinced and now... well, ask him)

It never fails that after playing one of these, I'll message 3N3MY or Skatch and say "why didn't you force me to play this earlier?" Below is the list as it stands today. Are there any games that I am missing?

Half Life
Batman AA
Fable 1 and 2
- I'm missing a game or two, but my coffee hasn't kicked in yet -

*** Lastly, I want to point out that I have harassed a couple of you on some games too. A Thank You will suffice.***

  1. Glad you're back and see to it that you don't just quit gaming for another 4 months. There's always something great to be played whether it's old or new.

As far as stellar games that you need to play:

    Dead Space
Prince of Persia (the cell shaded "reinvention" one from 2008. Lead Salad is finally playing it and loves it)
    The Darkness
    Condemned 1 and 2
The Chronicles of Riddick (I prefer the original XBOX version over the updated one, but it's a stellar title any way you look at it.)

    Now DO WORK SON!!!

As far as the games you've harassed me on:

    Bioshock 2
    Uncharted 1 and 2

I'm working on it. Uncharted 1 was stellar and I'm kind of Uncharted out at the moment, but all the games are in my possession....just have to get around to them.

I need to go spend some time with this.

  4. If we do a HALO LAN party be sure to bring an original XBOX because Amateria and I have experienced first hand the lag fest that the game is on emulation for the 360.

  5. Oh man, it's so gross. I wonder if the DLC version of Halo:CE is any better.

  6. you know... let's just refer to it as Halo. Halo:CE never sets right with me.

  7. Arkham Asylum
    Alan Wake
    The Orange Box
    Prince of Persia (2008)
Bayonetta - my favorite game of 2010 so far. If you liked God of War III (which I think you did) you'll like it because it's better in just about every way.

  8. Funny you say Bayonetta. Everyone keeps mentioning it and I just cannot wrap my head around it. I played through the demo and... well, hated it. Didn't enjoy it one bit. Maybe it's time I give it another look.
